The Mayor of Spongeknuckle Street now has a place he can use to muse, gripe, ponder and hype. Order!

Sis-Bro Connection

Bethany's bother is up for the weekend, or should I say brother. Kyle has been kind enough to come and help out with several work-type projects, as well as helping host our 3-year-old cousin's birthday party. It's the first time Kyle has been up since our Denman wedding in July, and we're glad to have him! I guess. He got the audio working on our computer finally, so I can get back to such YouTube gems as "fart slap" and David Letterman interviewing Paris Hilton (both worth seeking out, by the way).

As I type, the two of them are probing the house for possible future expansion. This place is only 1000 square feet, so if we're going to be here a long time, we'll need more space sooner or later. They are both into architecture and spatial riddles, so they are having fun right now with the measuring tape. The "Sis-Bro Connection" they call themselves, they're one tag team I wouldn't want to challenge to a cage match.

I have been doing pretty much nothing but interior painting this week, and I'm close to being done. When we moved in, it was a clean canvas of white everywhere. Those who came to our Victoria condo will know we like to spice it up colour-wise. This time we've gone with a soft yellow through the main part of the house, and sky blue in the bedroom. I'm sure you are riveted by this information! I'll throw up some photos when the job is done, but for now the place is a cluttery mess.

All the painting time also means lots of talk radio time, which makes a pretty tedious job bearable for me. The reception up here is fantastic, without the electrical fields of a big city to get in the way. We get NW, 1130 and The Team very clearly from Vancouver, plus a Comox Valley repeater for Victoria's CBC station. Even found today that the Q comes in very clearly. CFAX is fuzzy but clear enough to make out the words. Once the sun is down, the AM band opens up beautifully -- for a radio geek, that's a big deal.

Weather has been terrific this week, sunny all the time but not sweltering. Wish you were here.
